The Southern Continent

Settlements and nations have been established on the Southern continent for time immemorial. Many believe that it was on the Southern continent that intelligent life was first created by the gods, and it is a common theme among many theologies. There are currently six nations on the Southern continent. Gnomes, Elves, and Dwarfs each have one nation, respectively Gildenstar, Alfhavan, and Lapisii. Humans have three nations, Kesen, Peredite, and Sorcha. While swaths of wilderness still exist, most of the land has been explored and mapped. Only the humans seem to have any interest in settling these wild places, which the other races are glad to allow since it keeps the humans from invading the others whenever the humans feel the need to expand.

Goblinoids have settlements in the wild areas but they spend enough time fighting with one another and with the orcs that they rarely venture into civilized lands. Orcs, on the other hand, are constantly raiding or warring against some nation or people and the borderlands of most nations are marked by their incursions with the occasional abandoned fields and burned out villages.
